Going the extra mile
Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. There can be no worse feeling for a contractor than when the client cancels the contract four days before he is due to start, especially when it’s overseas and the travel has already been booked. Nevertheless, this is exactly what happened to one of our consultants. However, instead of leaving him in the lurch to fend for himself, our Service Delivery Team, along with our consultants took decisive action. We immediately agreed to fund his return travel to the UK, in order that he not be left stranded in a foreign country, whilst simultaneously focussing all our energies on finding a replacement role which we were able to track down in a short space of time, once again booking overseas travel in order for our candidate to attend the interview – which we felt was the least we could do given the disappointment of the contract being cancelled in the first instance.
