Environmental Policy
1. GENERAL
Templeton and Partners Limited is headquarted in the City of London. As a recruitment consultancy, we are unlikely to have a major environmental impact; however we recognise that any business operations will affect the local, regional and global environment.
As a result, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint by:
- optimising use of energy and other resources
- maximising waste reduction through re-use and recycling
- ensuring that we exceed all legislative requirements
- aiming for ISO14001 accreditation as a medium-term goal
2. POLICY STATEMENT
2.1 Energy
The Company will maximise its energy efficiency by
- adapting its office space to reduce heating and lighting use
- promoting the use of as many energy efficient products as possible
- ensuring employees follow environmental best practice in their day-to-day work
- carbon offsetting through an accredited scheme
2.2 Resource consumption
Company policies such as paperless desks seek to address environmental impact by reducing the use of natural resources. We will conserve resources through efficient reuse of existing resources (where feasible), and an intelligent procurement policy ensuring careful resource planning.
2.3 Recycling
One of our stated aims is to maximise waste reduction, and as such we aim to recycle materials wherever possible. Our major waste products are paper, toner and IT equipment. Paper and toner are recycled; IT equipment is reused where feasible, or donated to charities and schools.
2.4 Transport
Whilst practically all of our business is conducted via phone or email, occasionally business-related journeys are unavoidable. We therefore focus on reducing the environmental impact of any such journeys including our employees' journeys to work. To achieve this, we
- Use public transport (wherever feasible) to visit our UK-based clients
- Use Eurostar to visit our European clients
- Locate our offices in city centres, enabling staff to commute via public transport.
- Have no company car fleet
- Are members of Cyclescheme, offering our employees subsidised bicycles for their commute to work - we have a number of employees who cycle to work thereby reducing their environmental impact
2.5 Audit
We will conduct an annual self-evaluation of our performance in implementing these principles and in complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
3. SUMMARY
Templeton and Partners Limited wishes to contribute in improving the global environment by reducing the impact its activities have on the environment. In order to achieve this, we will continually strive to encourage and educate our employees, contractors and suppliers in the aims set out above, ensuring constant improvement in environmental awareness and ongoing reduction of the Company's impact.
